A circulação do vírus da Febre do Nilo Ocidental (FNO) foi confirmada em Portugal pela Direção-Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária (DGAV). Este ano, foram registados oito focos no Alentejo e quatro em Lisboa e Vale do Tejo.
A DGAV aconselha os proprietários de cavalos a vacinarem os animais nas zonas afetadas e a protegê-los das picadas de mosquitos, eliminando também águas paradas, potenciais criadouros destes insetos. Nos equídeos, a doença pode provocar sinais ligeiros, mas alguns casos podem evoluir para sintomas neurológicos graves e até fatais. Humanos e cavalos infetados não transmitem a doença.
A FNO é transmitida por mosquitos e apareceu pela primeira vez na Europa em 2000, na Camarque, França. Entre janeiro e setembro, foram registados 272 focos de infeção na Europa, sobretudo em Itália, mas também na Alemanha, Áustria, Croácia, Espanha, Estónia, Grécia e Hungria.

As obras de requalificação da esquadra da PSP de Vila Nova de Famalicão estão a entrar na fase final. A intervenção, que representa um investimento superior a um milhão de euros, tem vindo a renovar por completo um edifício com mais de três décadas.

O aviso é do INSA, que confirma que Portugal entrou em fase epidémica mais cedo do que o habitual e com tendência clara de subida.
Na última semana de novembro, a taxa de incidência chegou aos 10,5 casos por cada 100 mil habitantes, um valor superior ao das semanas anteriores. As crianças até aos 4 anos e os adultos com mais de 65 são, para já, os grupos mais afetados. As Unidades Locais de Saúde reportaram 82 casos graves de infeção respiratória aguda e 10 internamentos em cuidados intensivos. Todos os doentes tinham doenças crónicas; apenas três estavam vacinados.
O vírus que mais circula é o influenza A, com os subtipos H1N1 e H3N2 presentes na população. Dentro do H3N2, um novo subgrupo, conhecido como K, já representa cerca de 45% dos vírus analisados. Este subgrupo tem mutações que podem aumentar a capacidade de transmissão e pode tornar-se dominante nas próximas semanas, tal como aconteceu noutros países que tiveram um início de época mais precoce.
Segundo o INSA, a época gripal chegou 3 a 4 semanas mais cedo do que o normal e ainda não atingiu o pico. A previsão aponta para crescimento contínuo de casos e internamentos.
Quanto a outros vírus respiratórios, a circulação do SARS-CoV-2 mantém-se baixa e o vírus sincicial respiratório apresenta atividade reduzida, embora possa aumentar nas próximas semanas.

Destaca-se, ainda, a homenagem aos Antigos Alunos que concluíram o seu ciclo no Colégio há 50 anos, bem como a tradicional visita guiada e magusto.
